NEW YORK CITY STREET FOOD- Avoid The Worst, Find The Best

Honestly, when I was growing up here up, I generally avoided street food. Carts of unspecial, or even dodgy-looking food that always made my mother ask "where do the vendors wash their hands?"  And hot dogs?  Admittedly,  they can taste good but two words: "meat slurry"  put me right off.  The soft pretzels and roasted nuts sold on many corners smell lovely,  but their taste never seems to live up to their comforting aromas*.   While those old standbys are still standing,  street carts and food trucks have gone way beyond the football burger.  After all, by taking their goods to the streets, talented cooks and bakers can seek ... read more>>
